One of my goals as I branched out into this new form of genre, was also to expand on the options available to my clients. One of the simplest ways to do this, that could also drastically change the vibe of an image, is colour.
I started sampling this new (to me) style of portrait on a black backdrop. The result were images that were bold, dramatic, with a touch of mystery. The same image shot on colour could be light, airy, fun, etc.
I’ve stocked my studio with a variety of pastels (I like pastels)… blue, red, yellow, green, purple, pink, and a sort of sandy beige. And I absolutely love the way my photography looks against them.
Seen here is Jasmin, absolutely killing in in a slinky blue dress, against the pastel blue backdrop. Simply put; I love it. I love the vibe. It has a very light tranquil vibe. Almost calming. It’s so nice!
