Lorrie arrived for this session blonde... I know right.
A while back I had asked for some models to let me shoot them with wild coloured hair. It’s a favourite of mine, I think mostly because it’s something I can’t even consider doing myself. And I see it as a sort of display of passion, and an unwillingness to conform. I like that. I like what it says about the people who wear it. They tend to be the people I enjoy surrounding myself with. I live vicariously through them.
But I also know the upkeep is crazy, so not many can make it permanent - and the only way to capture it well is to catch the people right after they leave the colourist. Not an easy thing to arrange.
As mentioned, Lorrie arrived blonde… but thanks to a few applications of some temporary dye… I got exactly the look I was hunting for. So worth it – so worth the purple stained bathtub she left behind (I jest) - and seriously, she killed it.
Oh, and the purple feather thing... a happy accident. We were joined by my close friend, and photography peer, Sabrina... who found it at a consignment shop or something. Crazy.
